Pennsylvania boy, nine, becomes one of the youngest ever high school graduates David Balogun, who loves science and computer programming, receives diploma after taking remote classes Ramon Antonio Vargas Sun 5 Feb 2023 01.00 EST A nine-year-old boy from Pennsylvania who loves science and computer programming has become one of the youngest ever high school graduates, and he has already started accumulating some credits toward his college degree. David Balogun recently received a diploma from Reach cyber charter school – based in his state’s capital of Harrisburg – after taking classes remotely from his family home in the Philadelphia suburb of Bensalem, the local television station WGAL reported on Saturday. The achievement makes David one of the youngest known children to ever graduate high school, according to a list compiled by the history and culture website oldest.org. The only person on that list younger than David is Michael Kearney, who still holds the Guinness world record for youngest high school graduate that he set when he was six in 1990, before obtaining master’s degrees at 14 and 18 and then winning more than $1m on gameshows. David would come in higher on that list than the Pulitzer prize-winning journalist Ronan Farrow, who was 11 when he finished high school. David told WGAL that he already knows what he wants to dedicate his professional life to once he completes his education. “I want to be an astrophysicist, and I want to study black holes and supernovas,” he said to the station. David’s parents both have advanced academic degrees, but they told WGAL that it is challenging to raise a child with such an extraordinary intellect. “I had to get outside of the box,” David’s mother, Ronya, said to the outlet. “Playing pillow fights when you’re not supposed to, throwing the balls in the house. He’s a nine-year-old with the brain that has the capacity to understand and comprehend a lot of concepts beyond his years and sometimes beyond my understanding.” David told WGAL that some of his favorite teachers helped keep him engaged with his studies and pushed him to keep progressing. “They didn’t bog me down,” he said. “They … advocated for me, saying, ‘He can do this. He can do that.’” One instructor said to WGAL: “We’re just proud that we [were] able to individualize his instruction.” David’s teachers also said that they learned from their uncommonly bright pupil, whose loved ones describe him as a computer programming and science whiz. His science teacher, Cody Derr, remarked: “David was an inspirational kid, definitely one who changes the way you think about teaching.” David, a member of the high intelligence quotient society Mensa, has done one semester at Bucks county community college since graduating from Reach charter. Meanwhile, he and his family have been doing their research into other colleges and universities to try to find the one that is best suited for a boy who – besides his academics – is pursuing a martial arts black belt, enjoys other sports and plays the piano. “Am I going to throw my nine-year-old into Harvard while I’m living in [Pennsylvania]?” David’s father, Henry, said of the family’s college search. “No.” Unless, perhaps, it’s the right fit.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3RDaPV_rJ1Y&t= The movie will tell the history of the Dahomey kingdom even though some people may not like it due to slavery aspect. Nonetheless, is anyone here looking forward to the film or is your anticipation more inline with Black Panther 2 - Wakanda Forever? I think its great more historical African films are getting made be in a way to dispel myths about Africa just being a bunch fo tribal people with no history. I recently watched Amina on Netflix (produced by Nollywood and distributed by Netflix) and I thought it was pretty okay.

Remember in 2021 when I said that Biden would say the pandemic was OVER in 2022 because the Democrats would be in trouble for the mid-term elections? Did I call it? Or did I call it?

Mason, Tennessee, nearly lost the ability to govern itself after a Ford plant was announced nearby. But the small Black town of 1,600 pushed back. When Mason, Tennessee, faced losing its ability to govern its own finances in a fight with white state officials earlier this year, doing so brought a spotlight to the majority Black community of fewer than 1,600 people for a situation that town advocates called discriminatory. For months, Mason battled for its own financial control after the town refused to give up its charter, prompting the state to formally take over its finances shortly after carmaker Ford announced a major project nearby. But in May, Mason officials dropped a lawsuit they brought to Tennessee’s Chancery Court against state officials, after agreeing to more favorable terms, signaling the lengthy feud between the town and the state over racial discrimination and autonomy is coming to an end. The majority Black town, represented in court by the NAACP, announced during a press conference last month that it would regain its independence, while also reaping the benefits of the nearby economic development opportunity coming to the region. Now that the lawsuit has been dropped, the town will work to meet its financial obligations and continue paying off the debt. Mason will also move forward with investing in its infrastructure and economic development to bring business into the town for “Mason to be a beautiful place,” Rivers said. “Hopefully, it doesn’t happen again,” she said. Because of the state’s correction action plan, the comptroller can exercise his financial authority if Mason gets “out of line at all in any way,” she said. “But hopefully we don’t have to get to that point,” she added.

According to Fox 9 News, Hennepin County, Minnesota Sheriff Dave Hutchinson, who oversees county-level law enforcement in Minneapolis, made racist and homophobic comments in a series of texts to subordinates. The texts messages, uncovered by an outside investigator, come in the weeks and months after he drunkenly crashed a police SUV while driving at 125 miles per hour. "In a text message from Dec. 30, he refers to Suwana Kirkland, director of Dakota County Community Corrections, who at the time was seeking the DFL endorsement for Hennepin County Sheriff," said the report. "'She get (sic) dfl for sure. Black all the (sic) care about,' Hutchinson texted to a member of his staff. 'People are sick of black people getting things solely on being black,' Hutchinson continued. Kirkland, who is African American, dropped out of the race to focus on her growing family."

Today we ask the simple question: What if Hunter Biden were a black man? President Joe Biden's son has had a long string of troubles involving drugs, which is ironic, since his father was the leader of the anti drug movement. During the War on Drugs, Biden promised long prison sentences for anyone in the possession of crack, and he also said that the government then has the right to seize all of the assets of those who are convicted. This is one of the reasons that I believe that the government should pay #reparations to black Americans, not just for slavery, but also for the War on Drugs. #JoeBiden should address this in the next election cycle if he wants votes from intelligent black people. Trillions in black wealth that were stolen during the War on Drugs should be repaid to the families that lost these resources. Many of the men sentenced by Biden and Strom Thurmond are still in prison till this day.

All inmates incarcerated under the #Biden crime bill should be released IMMEDIATELY. All assets seized during the War on Drugs should be returned to the families that lost them. #JoeBiden and his administration should pay #reparations to families that were harmed during the bogus War on Drugs led by Biden and the notorious racist Strom Thurmond. I also encourage you to go back and research the fact that it was a black man in the Congressional Black Caucus who helped Biden and Bill Clinton get the bill past skeptical black people. I wont say his name because he died a “hero”, but it’s public record View all 235 comments realpeterock He would get 10 off rip max years before paroll if he was black. i see it all now doc. The rock straight on the scale on camera. Clean and clear evidence lets bet he dont go to jail or even get 1 charge. He has enough there to put him away for a while

Former governor of New Mexico Bill Richardson will be traveling to Moscow, Russia, as he attempts to expedite the release of US citizens Brittney Griner and Paul Whelan. The United States considers both to be wrongfully detained in Russia. The trip comes after Griner's first court hearing in which she pleaded guilty to drug smuggling charges. Griner was arrested in February for allegedly having two vape cartridges that each contained less than a gram of cannabis oil. Whelan was arrested in December 2018 on charges of espionage. In June 2020 he received a sentence of 16 years in prison. Richardson previously played a part in helping to secure the release of Trevor Reed. I'm by no means saying she is wrongfully detained, but there should be some justice without I give you her for this!!

Can someone please tell me how can Trump speak on giving or not given folks executive privilege when he is not the presdoent. Secondly, folks just needed to be held accountable with doing What is right instead of all these side-winding talks to avoid this or that. Too me when folks are mandated to show before any court or hearing and do not well this has shown and told me we're going back to a lot of unwanted behavior that once existed 100 years ago or much further back. To breaking laws and just common sense will cost many on this world their future children come. It so simple you did something worng, own up and take your punishment and just move on with the hopes you have learned a lesson.

By rasshole on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 - 5:27 am: All that money the US Government gave Big Pharma and Russia beat them to the punch. Question, if you were diagnosed with COVID-19 Would you take the Vaccine? Why or Why Not? By geforce2012 on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 - 6:43 am: I just saw that on the news stating Putin has inoculated this daughter claiming it does work. By geforce2012 on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 - 6:44 am: ^ his daughter....that is. By nycmale on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 - 9:41 am: beating someone to the punch isn't the most important thing... getting it right is... I'd prefer to stay away from any of the earlier versions... By nastynoble on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 - 11:08 am: Hell No By socraticmind on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 - 11:16 am: Rasshole, the purpose of a vaccine is to prevent you from getting a disease, not cure you once you have it. By lokitis1111 on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 - 11:43 am: @acroticmindlessness-your usual ol ass stoopid booolsheeet By darrmok384 on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 - 11:52 am: I would rather take a vaccine from Putin than Lying Trump. At least Putin does not lie every time his mouth is moving By panther5420 on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 - 12:13 pm: You speak Russian? ^^ neither does trump, how are you convinced he’s not lying? By komicbookman on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 - 6:42 pm: I can't turn on my computer these days or look at the news without someone being offended by something these days. a month ago they were attacking GONE WITH THE WIND, a couple of days ago KINDERGARTEN COP was being attacked...I don't remember this movie that much but evidently a scene in the movie has a child in cuffs...I really don't remember but I always did remember liking the movie Think hard on this... what are some of your favorite movies that would offend the shit out of people today??? (if it's a certain scene let us know) for me... I grew up on this movie and what scene comes to mind is when Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor are on the run and they go in the bathroom and Pryor takes black shoe polish and smears it on Gene Wilders face, put a cap on his head and a boom box on his shoulder...and Gene Wilder comes out the bathroom boppin and shit to the music pretending to be black. Sorry that scene is funny as fuck, but in this day and age you betta download dat shit if you ever wanna see it again What's your movie? By komicbookman on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 - 6:43 pm: add TV shows too By leoeat on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 - 6:55 pm: One that pops in my mind right now is "All in the Family" By komicbookman on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 - 6:57 pm: ^good one if that came out today we would have rioting outside of the CBS offices and I loved ALL IN THE FAMILY. By sup_b_more on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 - 7:02 pm: The one where Richard Pryor and Gene Hackmen play a blind and deaf guys. Funny but folks would be up in arms for the way the guys are portrayed. By mrgoodhead4u on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 - 7:22 pm: ^^^^ That was Richard Pryor and Gene Wilder in “See No Evil, Hear No Evil”. I’m thinking of various lines from James Bond movies that would probably get the “Me Too” movement riled up. Also , the original “Planet Of The Apes” movies might raise a few hackles. By okragumbo on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 - 7:26 pm: James Bond would slap a bitch silly back in the day. Alotta the jokes in Eddie Murphy Delirious wouldn't fly today either. By real_raw on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 - 7:51 pm: eh, sometimes shit just doesn't stand the test of time. What was funny in one era just doesn't translate into the next. I doubt that I'd be able to sit through a complete episode of the three stooges, these days. Tastes change By northtexassoul on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 - 8:18 pm: Watermelon Man and Blazing Saddles. Both of which I found hilarious. By wordplay on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 - 8:59 pm: "Trading Places" with Eddie Murphy and Dan Aykroyd, who literally wore blackface in that scene on the train. By komicbookman on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 - 9:08 pm: ^ I forgot about that By kamirx on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 - 9:14 pm: So you believe portrayals that denigrate black people, based on their race, is being "sensitive", because those portrayals are "funny"? By mzwo01 on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 - 9:24 pm: Andy Griffith...no Blacks in that show at ALL. WHY? Because when they tried to have ONE Black person Aunt Bee had a fit. Racism behind the scenes. I can't bring myself to watch that now. By coochietaster11 on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 - 10:17 pm: Can't count the many times George Jefferson said "honkie". I thought Amos & Andy was a good show. Along the same comedic genre as The Jackie Gleason Show and I Love Lucy. This gem has been hidden away in the Disney vaults for awhile. "The controversy stems from how the stories were translated into a film, with many saying that the portrayals of black people in the film’s live-action framing device are racist and insulting. Song of the South glosses over the effects and history of slavery and despite taking place during Reconstruction, the black people in the film are still catering to the white plantation family." By goon99 on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 - 2:12 am: And once again that's false bullshit on the Andy Griffin show, love that show...lolz! You had Rockne Tarkington, who played Opie’s football coach and Flip Conway, in another episode of the show. In addition, I am not counting Mayberry RFD, which was better with regards to black characters having speaking roles. No, just counting regular episodes of The Andy Griffith Show, there were frequent usage of black extras on the show. Niggas need to stop relying on FB to get information. By was40in2009 on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 - 3:59 pm: this is not too far back but a person on this thread reminds me so much of Uncle Ruckus from the boondocks. would that show get a pass today?
